What is a BISS assessment?

Buckinghamshire Integrated Sensory Service (BISS) is an organisation providing support to people with visual impairments and/or hearing loss in Buckinghamshire. They can also support carers, families and professionals.

BISS can provide a free assessment to identify what support you might need to help you to maintain your independence. This can include information and advice, support to develop daily living skills, equipment and demonstrations, referrals and signposting to other services, and registration of impairments.

Please note: due to Covid-19, BISS are currently unable to carry out most face-to-face meetings. If there is an urgent need, they may be able to carry out some home visits but this will be reviewed on a case by case basis. Assessments are currently taking place via telephone, video call, email and text. This is being reviewed in accordance with government guidance.
