Safeguarding policies and procedures

This procedure complements existing statutory guidance and local policy and procedures by providing additional guidance in responding to safeguarding concerns which involve cross-boundary considerations.

This document outlines the policy, procedures and guidance for safeguarding adults at risk of harm as a result of abuse or neglect. It should be read alongside the Buckinghamshire Safeguarding Adults Board’s Multi-Agency Safeguarding Adults Policy.

'BSAB' stands for Buckinghamshire Safeguarding Adults Board.

This document outlines the policy for dealing with concerns in relation to self-neglect for adults with care and/or support needs. It should be read alongside the Buckinghamshire Multi-agency Safeguarding Adults Policy and Buckinghamshire Self-neglect Procedures.

Buckinghamshire Safeguarding Adults Board expects all agencies, both statutory and voluntary, to engage fully with this policy in order to achieve the best outcome for the person. Self-neglect is everyone’s business.

This policy sets out Buckinghamshire Safeguarding Adult Board's multi-disciplinary and multi-agency framework for safeguarding adults in accordance with the Care Act (2014) and associated statutory guidance. As such BSAB’s duty is to provide leadership across organisations throughout the county to keep people safe from harm. Abusive behaviour in any environment is never accepted.
