Service charge increases, April 2025
Charges for care services will increase in line with the Governments' calculated inflation rate. This rise in fees will take effect from 7th April 2025.
If you receive care and support from us there may be an increase to the amount you need to pay for the support you receive.
You should have received a letter explaining this. If there is an increase in the amount you need to pay this will be detailed in your invoice or statement.
Residents receiving support from adult social care should complete a financial assessment. This will help you to understand your contributions. If your financial situation has changed or you have not done a recent assessment, contact us to arrange this.
Frequently asked questions
You have received this letter because our records show you are currently receiving a service from us. If this is not the case, please contact us so that we can ensure our records are up to date. Please note that a Pendant Alarm system – also known as Telecare or Assistive Technology – does count as a service for which you may be being charged.
If you are in a permanent Nursing or Residential Home setting, please accept our apologies for sending you this letter. You do not need to take any further action.
Please note that we will be advising everyone as soon as possible of how the changes affect you, as your charge depends on your individual financial circumstances.
If you feel that your charges need to be reviewed, please contact us to request a Statement of Financial Circumstances form. This will then be sent to you or your financial representative to complete.
When this is returned, we will contact you to advise you if the charge needs to be amended. You can also submit financial information via our Online Financial Assessment.
We can arrange for someone to help you with this if you contact us. We can also help with benefits checks and applications if you are receiving or are about to receive an Adult Social Care service arranged by the Council.
This depends entirely on your individual financial circumstances. If you are advised that you need to make a financial contribution towards your care but feel that this is not right or that you cannot afford the charge, please contact us.
Please note that some services are charged for on a set fee and are not dependent on your financial circumstances. These are meals – charged directly by the service provider and some Telecare services (Mobile/Pendant alarm) - depending on whether you have other services as part of your care package. Please contact us if you are unsure about how your charges are calculated.
Please contact us if you have a query about your care. You may be referred to another department, depending on the nature of your query or concern.
