Helping you to live independently

Community Occupational Therapy Service for Adults

Occupational Therapists help you achieve your goals despite illnesses or disabilities. They focus on your daily activities and how to overcome challenges.

This service is person-centred, helping adults do what they want and need to do. The goal is to keep people independent and well at home or help them recover after a crisis.

Occupational Therapists help you live independently by:

  • finding new ways to do tasks like cooking, dressing, and moving around your home.
  • recommending or lending equipment
  • advising your carer on how to best support you
  • providing minor adaptations like grab rails
  • recommending major adaptations like ramps or stairlifts
  • giving information or advice and directing you to other services
