Short-break services

These are services for residents with complex and high support needs, including those with learning difficulties and dementia.

The day services are fully accessible for those with mobility problems. Our sites are wheelchair friendly. The toilet facilities are accessible and spacious. Staff are always on hand to help if needed.

Services provided

We have a variety of building based services across Buckinghamshire. These include:

  • Wycombe Short Breaks
  • Aylesbury Short Breaks (including Spectrum Autism Service)
  • Burnham Short Breaks
  • Chesham Short Breaks
  • Buckingham Short Breaks
  • Seeley’s Overnight Service
  • Seeley’s Day Short Breaks
  • Spring Valley Short Breaks

We also support trips into the community. These include things like visiting shops and going for walks.

All services are open Monday to Friday all year round (except for Bank Holidays and over Christmas).

Seeleys short breaks overnight services is the exception and open all year round apart from Christmas Day.

What support will I get

On your first day attending the service, you may have your own social care assistant who will help you settle in and will create a support plan with you.

After six weeks, we will get in touch with you to make sure that you are happy with how the service is supporting you.

We will then complete six-monthly and yearly reviews to make sure you are still happy, and the service meets your needs.

Will I have to pay

This depends on your financial assessment. You may have to pay for the service and for any transport we arrange for you. You may have to pay for:

  • food
  • drinks
  • some activities
