Types of care and support available
- Home care: Personal care and support provided in your own home.
- Shared Lives: A scheme which is family-based care, provided by approved people in their home, sharing a family and community life.
- Day Care Services: Community-based centres offering activities and social interactions.
- Residential care: Long-term are provided in a residential care home.
- Respite Care: Temporary care for those with care needs, giving primary caregivers a short-term break.
- Direct Payments: Payments that allow you to arrange and pay for your own care, such as:
- personal assistants
- agency carers
- day activities
- respite care
You need to be eligible for a personal budget to receive direct payments.
